How To Pose If You’re Awkward Like Me

For whatever reason, I struggle with posing in photos- which is ironic since I am in front of the camera quite frequently! I have gotten better over the years but still have to look up posing inspo on Pinterest (which is totally okay!). With posing, it’s important to feel comfortable in front of the camera, because if you aren’t, your photo may look a bit awkward. Definitely relax and do small, yet impactful movements. Here are some of my go-to poses for someone who is a bit shy but really wanted to capture a cute photo!

STYLE 1 – CANDID/LOOK AWAY

Everyone loves a good candid! Photos like these are produced with a lot of movement. It definitely helps when you use an app that will take multiple photos for a certain amount of time. My favorite is Lens Buddy!

STYLE 2 – ARM UP/ANGLED

Using your arms to create different angles and shapes gives your photo dimension. It’s something you can really play around with depending on your posing comfortability.

STYLE 3 – USING PROPS

In almost every curated photo I take, I try to have some type of prop with me. In this case it’s a drink, but you could totally use whatever works for your aesthetic and style content. My suggestions are drinks, purses, sunglasses and flower bouquets!
